As we begin October in Danville, CA, I want to share with you one of the best local celebrations coming up in our wonderful town. The 23rd annual Danville Fall Crafts Festival is being held October 25th and 26th along Hartz Avenue in the heart of downtown. Each year this family fun event brings local artists, shops, restaurants, and community members together for a weekend of autumn and Halloween fun. There are plenty of activities on hand, so everyone is sure to find something exciting to do and enjoy.
Sponsored by the Danville Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Danville, the Fall Crafts Festival brings art to the community. Artists with the Alamo Danville Artist’s Society will set up portable studios and create pieces based on what they observe throughout the festival. There will also be classes offered on both days by Pinot’s Palette in front of Bridges Restaurant. And it wouldn’t be a craft festival without booths of arts and crafts for sale. There will be 200 booths with arts and crafts of all kinds to choose from. Unique and very popular to the festival is the Glass Pumpkin Patch. You will find more than 1,000 glass blown pumpkins, each a one of a kind piece of art.
For the kids, the Fall Crafts Festival just wouldn’t be right without a bit of Halloween fun. There will be a kid’s costume parade on Saturday the 25th at 10:00 a.m., and kids can trick or treat at businesses throughout downtown. There will be pony rides, bounce houses, and even train rides provided by the Museum of San Ramon Valley. Along School Avenue there will be a variety of kids’ activities throughout each day.
No festival would be complete without live music, great food, and entertainment; all of which you will find at the Danville Fall Crafts Festival. The Festival is also free to attend, and as an extra plus, there are several transportation options available to you. There will be a shuttle service provided from the Danville Park & Ride at 680 Sycamore Valley Road, and a complimentary bike valet to encourage reduced traffic. If you do decide to park close to the festival, all timed, paid parking in town owned lots and curbside spaces will be free for the weekend.
